2 gardens illustration

As I fell asleep last night the Lord gave me an illustration to help me have context. I live in an apartment complex for senior citizens in a small town. We have recently begun to work together to make a community garden. This is a large and complex project. Various neighbors are contributing what they can to get things going. We are building the raised garden beds for those on walkers and wheelchairs. We are starting to collect kitchen scraps for composting and buying the initial worms. We have put down layers of newspaper, leaves, mulch, and soil. We have reworked the plumbing to get a water hose to that part of the property. And a few plants have been put into the first bed.

It will be a while before there are vegetables and herbs harvested. We will surely make mistakes along the way and hopefully, we will not repeat those mistakes. Then, by contrast, I visited a  person that has an established garden. This person moved there a few months ago. There were some plants that naturally sprung up due to the previous planting and the well-conditioned soil. A few new herbs were added. This is the start of an ongoing experiment that will last for years. But the basic foundation of the garden is in place.

So by illustration, my current set of challenge is like starting the community garden. These kinds of activities involve cocreating the foundation for future phases. I request your best prayers so that God will guide us in how to best make the base for future phases.
